What do I need to know about hiring an interior designer?

The most important thing to know is that working with an interior designer can be a rewarding, stress-free process. In addition to helping you create a beautiful home, designers can also help you define a budget and the scope of your project. They also have the connections and recommendations to help you hire the right contractors to complete the work.

What is your fee structure?

We structure our process and fees into three different phases throughout the project.  Each project presents its own unique challenges, so we charge hourly based on time spent working. We begin with an initial proposal before the project is finalized. In this proposal, we review the scope of the work, the budget, and provide an estimation of our design fees based on projected hours.

We are committed to transparency with our clients and will provide regular updates so that you always know where you stand in the project.

What is your design process?

We always love collaborating with our clients on all of our designs, after all this is YOUR home. We first start by giving you design homework and setting our Discovery meeting where we gather all the information we need to design your home. From there our team gets to work on designing your home with intention and with YOU in mind. We pull samples, make floor plans, mood boards and give you all the tools you need to envision your brand new house. We might make a few revisions and then once the design has been approved we move into phase two of implementation.

How do you present your design ideas? What if I want to make changes after presentation?

We present all the details during an in-person presentation. We provide as many samples as possible and walk you through the proposed design. Revisions are a built-in to the design process. We love client feedback and are always open to amending the design to be exactly what you envisioned.

Do you travel for projects?

Yes! We love to work with clients all over! For all non local clients we still use all our processes the same way but with more facetime, emails, and travel. We will create a custom travel budget before contract approval so you know how many times we plan on needing to come to your home in person. We love getting to know clients from different areas!  We are open to a limited number of out of area projects if the scope and timing are a good fit.

What size projects do you typically take on? 

We are a full service design firm and typically request that projects include 3+ rooms with furnishings, flooring finishes, lighting, and accessories. 

How long does the process take from start to finish?

So many variables come into play when figuring out a time frame for a project. In the beginning  as we figure out the detailed scope for the overall project, we help put together a timeframe and adjust as needed. Typical renovation/new construction projects can take anywhere from 2-18 months and furnishing projects typically take 4-12 months depending on scope. We work with a 8 week Design Schedule to work out all the details, floor plans and quotes prior to construction.
